Heritage Without Borders 2026: A Resounding Success

Heritage Without Borders 2026 concluded with remarkable success, reaffirming its role as one of the region’s most dynamic platforms for cultural heritage dialogue, collaboration, and capacity building. Held on April 20, 2026,  the conference was organized by Sanfo 101 in partnership with the National Library of the Philippines and the Quezon City Tourism Department, bringing together leaders, practitioners, educators, and institutions united by a shared commitment to strengthening conservation practice across communities and regions.

This year’s program was distinguished by the presence of esteemed guests whose contributions continue to shape the cultural landscape of the Philippines. Among them were Hon. Tany Joel Calalay, Quezon City Councilor for District 1; Ms. Gemma Cruz Araneta, Vice President and Trustee of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines; Ms. Audrey Dawn Tomada, President of ICOM Philippines; and Ms. Cecille Gelicame, Board Member of ICOM Philippines and Director of the Museo Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

The conference welcomed representatives from a wide network of partner institutions, including the National Library of the Philippines, the Quezon City Tourism Department, Lalawigan ng Bulacan, PHACTO, the Local Water Utilities Administration, Museo Diocesano de Pasig, and the Samahan Museo Bulacan.

Their presence reflected the breadth of heritage stewardship across the country and the growing momentum for inter-institutional collaboration.

Following the conference, participants engaged in a week-long series of lectures and hands-on training sessions—completing the full cycle of knowledge exchange that Heritage Without Borders stands for. These sessions provided practical, skills-based learning that strengthened the competencies of museum workers, cultural officers, and conservation practitioners from various regions.
