At SANFO 101, we are dedicated to providing top-tier training and experience in art restoration. Our commitment lies in nurturing highly skilled, responsible, and disciplined conservators, dedicated to safeguarding the cultural art heritage of the Philippines for future generations. 

Sanfo 101 offers a structured program in the conservation of paintings, paper-based materials, architectural heritage, and museum collections, integrating theoretical foundations with applied methodologies central to contemporary conservation practice. The curriculum emphasizes the scientific, historical, and ethical dimensions of restoration, enabling participants to understand material behavior, deterioration processes, and appropriate intervention strategies.

Training in paintings conservation covers the examination, stabilization, and treatment of painted surfaces, while paper conservation focuses on the preservation of archival documents, prints, and drawings through deacidification, stain reduction, structural repair, and preventive housing. The architectural heritage component introduces the assessment, documentation, and conservation of historic structures, addressing material decay, structural integrity, and cultural context.

Complementing these technical areas, the program includes comprehensive instruction in museum and collections care and collection management, encompassing environmental monitoring, risk mitigation, integrated pest management, cataloguing standards, documentation systems, and policy development for long-term preservation.

Through this integrated approach, Sanfo 101 prepares participants to engage in conservation practice that is scientifically informed, ethically grounded, and responsive to the needs of museums, archives, and heritage institutions in the Philippines and the region.

Our students undergo extensive training, including lectures and practical exercises, to sharpen their skills in artifact conservation & restoration. Adhering to international standards for the restoration and conservation of various materials, our graduates are equipped to manage these delicate processes.
